1. How to reach us
Email craigs@baddaddyoperations.com. Include the company name you are working in and, if something failed, what you were doing when it did. A screenshot is usually worth more than a description.
2. QuickBooks Desktop Web Connector
The QuickBooks Desktop bridge appears in the QuickBooks Web Connector as Bad Daddy Operations. It is installed from a .qwc file downloaded from inside the application by an owner, administrator, or accounting user of the company it belongs to. Each company has its own file and its own Web Connector user name.
The bridge is read-only. The .qwc file declares IsReadOnly as true, and the queue behind it refuses to store anything other than a query — not as a setting, but as a database constraint. It cannot create, change, or delete a transaction in your company file.
Two things about hosted QuickBooks that are not faults, and are worth knowing before you report one:
- Web Connector only runs while you are signed in to your hosted desktop with QuickBooks open. Hosting providers stop background programs when you disconnect, so scheduled runs do not happen overnight unless your provider has configured both programs to launch at sign-in.
- An empty run is normal. If there is no work waiting, a session completes having done nothing, and that is a healthy result rather than a failure.
3. Passwords and credentials
The Web Connector password for a company is chosen by that company’s owner and stored only as a one-way hash. It cannot be read back or recovered by anyone, including us. If it is lost, it is replaced rather than retrieved, and the Web Connector entry is updated with the new one.
